Coronary Stent Fracture Causing Myocardial Infarction: Case Report and Review of Literature
نویسندگان
چکیده
Coronary stent fracture (SF) is a potential cause of failure increasing the risk for in-stent restenosis, thrombosis, target lesion revascularization and major adverse cardiac events. Overall incidence SF ranges from <1.0% up to 18.6% can be found in 60% failed devices. Advanced imaging techniques have improved detection SF. However, defining optimal therapeutic approach towards these complex lesions challenging. This review summarizes most important publications on topic discusses current insights into pathophysiology, diagnostic tools, classification management. Furthermore, two illustrative cases leading myocardial infarction are presented, which demonstrate typical factors such as vessel angulation hinge motion, stenting right coronary artery, use long stents multiple layers.

متن کاملMultiple Stent Fractures After Everolimus-Eluting Stent Implantation Causing Acute Myocardial Infarction: A Case Report.
Stent fracture is an uncommon complication of drug-eluting stent implantation, but it has a clinical significance because of its potential association with adverse cardiac events such as in-stent restenosis, target lesion revascularization, and stent thrombosis. Multiple stent fractures account for a small proportion, but they may lead to more serious complications. Newer generation drug-elutin...

متن کاملMyocardial infarction with normal coronary arteries: a case report and review of the literature
INTRODUCTION Although acute myocardial infarction is generally associated with obstructive coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction associated with normal coronary arteries is a well-known condition. The overall prevalence rate of myocardial infarction with normal coronary arteries is considered to be low, varying from 1% to12% depending on the definition of "normal" coronary arteries. ...
متن کاملAcute stent thrombosis in a sirolimus eluting stent after wasp sting causing acute myocardial infarction: a case report
INTRODUCTION Hymenoptera venoms contain thrombogenic substances that might be responsible for cardiovascular events independent of anaphylactic reactions. CASE PRESENTATION We report a 55-year-old man who experienced an acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction after wasp sting. The patient presented without signs of anaphylaxis or shock. The coronary angiography showed an acute stent thrombos...
